A Story Rooted in Place

Taking her name from a historic, sheltered deep-water channel in southern Poole Harbour. For centuries, “South Deep” has been known among mariners as a calm anchorage—offering protection and easy access to the shore. It’s from this maritime heritage that our restaurant draws both its name and its ethos: a welcoming refuge, a place to pause, refresh—and savour life by the water .
Parkstone Bay Marina’s long history and its ties to boating culture have shaped South Deep’s identity. Starting in 2003 as a modest place for the boaters to enjoy and overtime transforming into the seafood restaurant she is today. Life on the waters-edge is the foundation of South Deep as we share the taste of a seaside escape for all to enjoy year round.

Zak, our Head Chef, brings a passion for fresh, seasonal, and locally sourced ingredients, constantly pushing boundaries with creative new ideas like our outdoor kitchen. Sal’s extensive experience in restaurant management ensures smooth operations and a welcoming atmosphere. Together, we’re committed to delivering an exceptional customer experience through genuine hospitality and teamwork.
